I have not entered the world of electronics until today. All the time, I see kids with hand-held electronic games. I know nothing about them. Until recently, I had no interest in learning about them. However, we were over at someone's house the other day and one of the little girls had a Nintendo DS. This led us to a long conversation about these little gadgets. It was recommended for us to buy a "Leapster." They are more "pre-school" oriented than the Nintendo. Maddie was fascinated by the Nintendo and sat there playing it for a long time.
I figured if she liked the Nintendo - then she would probably love the Leapster. I started researching and trying to figure out what to buy. I looked on CraigsList and on Ebay. Then, today, I was in Walmart and I wandered through the toy section. I saw the Leapster hand-held game for $39! That is a great deal. They normally go for $59. So I bought it. So far, Maddie has been playing with it since I gave it to her this afternoon. That is a world-record for her. Normally her attention span is about 10 minutes.
The great thing about it, is that we have a Leap Frog game that hooks up to the TV. The games that Maddie has for that game are interchangeable with the Leapster! So we already had 2 games. I was very excited.
So - I guess we have officially entered the world of electronics. Fun stuff.
