Back to work

The time has come. I knew this day would come. I just wasn't prepared for how fast it would come. Back to work. Back to the real world. Back to the grind.

I am counting my blessings though because it is not like I am actually "returning" to an office. Thankfully I am lucky enough to work from home. So -this will be much easier of an adjustment from when I left Maddie.

When I went back to work after I had Maddie it was tough. At the time I worked for Special Olympics and the office was in Schenectady. I switched my hours so I went in at 7:30 so I could leave at 4. It was rough. That meant getting up at an ungodly hour so I could pump, and then actually nurse the baby before I left the house. Working at Special Olympics also meant a lot of travel. That stunk.

Then I hit the jackpot with my current job. I do feel lucky. If I have to work - at least I have the comforts of home (and my car) and the comfort of a flexible schedule.
