I never thought we would own a sectional. Not that I have anything against them - but I just didn't think we would have one. Ever.
Well - now we do.
It all started with the moldings in the basement. When we first moved in - the basement was finished. However, the moldings along the baseboards, and the trim around the doors were missing. It was never a big deal. But -we knew eventually we would have to have it finished. We decided to finish it last week. Our handy contractor came and knocked out the job in 3 days. Along with the moldings, he did some other finishing touches. I have to admit that the basement looks MUCH better with the moldings. Funny how that works.
Anyway - this led us to watch a show called "Divine Basements." The show was about a designer who designed 10 different basements. In each basement, she had a sectional. She talked about zones in your basement and how a sectional was a great use of sectioning off the TV area from the rest of the basement. I didn't think much about it until Brian started talking about sectionals and how we "needed" one.
The next thing I knew, we were out furniture shopping and before I knew it, we owned a sectional. It was delivered today. It is sitting in my basement. And it looks really big. Not too big. But - big. Of course, it doesn't help that the old couch is still down there too. Once the old couch is gone, then I am sure it will look much bigger and more open.
Anyway - that is the story of the sectional. Funny how you start off with a simple project and then it turns into a whole room re-decoration.
