It's 9 PM. I am finally ready to sit down and watch Lost and/or American Idol. The kids have been in bed since 7:30. My husband has been sucked into some Fox News program - (usually Glen Beck or O'Reilly). It amazes me how when it's time to "wind down" - Brian can just sack out on the couch and do nothing. When it's time for me to wind down - it involves a multitude of things.
For the past 90 minutes I have reorganized the cabinets, emptied the dishwasher, cleared all the clutter off my kitchen counter and found a place for it, made Maddie's lunch, done laundry, and prepared my stuff that I need for work tomorrow. In between that, I have answered emails, downloaded some songs on my Ipod and let the dog in and out of the house umpteen times.
It is amazing how much I do while Brian remains oblivious to what I am doing. I must have gone up and down the stairs 4-5 times and not once - did he ask me what I was doing. Does he wonder? Is he curious? Or does he just take me for what I am? Which by the way - is a Type A multi-tasker. I guess he must be used to it by now. But - I am still amazed that he does not ask. If I saw him puttering around the house doing different things, walking up and down the stairs, I would ask, "Hey, babe. What the heck are you doing????"
Oh well. I must go now. It really is time for me to wind down and do nothing but watch my favorite shows.
P.S. Brian has emerged from his Fox News programs to watch "Lost" with me and he is now eating ice cream. And we just realized that Lost is a repeat. Darn it all!
