Kids really do listen to what you say!

I am trying a new tactic with Maddie. I am trying to be more appreciative when she is really good or listens to something I say. So I have started saying, "Thank you Maddie for listening! I really appreciate it!"

Anyway - today I was packing her lunch for school. She was eating her breakfast and watching me. I was almost done and she said, "Mommy, can you pack some chips?" (I buy these special veggie chips for her from FlatEarth). So - I said, "Sure Honey." I got the ziplock baggie out and poured some chips in. She said, "Mommy -please give me a LOT!" I poured a little bit more in.

You know what she said?

She said, "Thank you mommy for listening. I really appreciate it!"

And then she smiled that goofy kid grin and it made me smile and laugh. What a funny way to start the morning!

What a pip!
