We all know that the swingset arrived this week. It has been sitting in our garage since Tuesday. Last night Brian went out in the garage with the instruction booklet and started sorting the wood. He was out there for quite a while. Around 8:30, I went out to check on him. Both cars were out of the garage and the wood was taking up both sides of the garage - all sorted into neat piles and labeled.
Wow - Great Job Brian! The wood is sorted! That is the first step.
Yes. Indeedy. But - don't get too excited yet. How come there is always a glitch?
The glitch is that there are 4 main posts. Three of those posts happen to have the wrong holes drilled into them. MMMMM. Not so good. This probably wouldn't be such a big deal - except for the fact that these 4 posts are the foundation for the swingset. Meaning that everything stems off of them. So - you kind of need to have the correct holes in the right places.
Long story short - Brian played phone tag with the swingset company today and finally talked to the swingset installer around 3:30 today. He was hoping that the installer would be able to tell him where the holes should be and Brian could just drill them in the correct places. Well - the installer couldn't do that. He basically told Brian that 3 new posts would have to be ordered!
MMMMM. I was not happy. That will take 3-5 days and this really backs up the whole swing-set building process. Anyway - Brian spent a lot of time in the garage tonight studying the 4 posts and the instructions. When I went out there he thought he had it figured out. He wasn't sure - but he seemed optimistic.
We shall see what happens.
