It's on in the car on 98.3 and 100.9.
It's on at home on the TV on channel 1262.
It's on basically 24/7 - everywhere I go!
I am fine with that. I like Christmas music. However - what I don't like is overplayed Christmas songs. You know. The kind that are on all the time. At least 10 times a day. To name a few:
- Holly Jolly Christmas
- Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer - Just wrong, wrong, and wrong - on so many levels.
- Last Christmas (By Wham) - So 80's and so very annoying.
- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - ICK! I hate this song. I change the channel when it comes on.
- Feliz Navidad
- I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - The tone of voice in this song makes me want to run off a cliff. Very, very annoying.
- Frosty the Snowman
- Happy Christmas (War is Over) - Nice song - but definitely overplayed.
That being said, I have a list of some GREAT songs that should be played MORE often. For instance:
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Sarah McLachlan and the Bare Naked Ladies
- Canon in D - Transiberian Orchestra
- O Holy Night - any version is great if the person can sing.
- Any song by Bing - can we say classic, classic and more classic.
Don't think of me as a scrooge. I just like to hear some good Christmas music. Why do we have to hear the same ones over and over and over?
Happy Wednesday everyone.
