Money Saving Techniques

I saved quite a bit of money this past week. All because I took the time to see if some items that I bought last week were on sale.

We bought Maddie a giant horse and doll as one of her "big" Santa presents. Wouldn't you know that both items were on sale in the Sunday fliers! So - off I went to Target with my receipt in hand and they adjusted the price for me. It saved me $18.

Last week I also purchased an Ipod Docking station. I have wanted one for two years. I just haven't gotten around to buying one. I finally bit the bullet and went to Radio Shack and bought a nice one and brought it home and suprised Brian - who by the way - wasn't overly excited about my purchase. Anyway - I called Radio Shack yesterday and asked them if it was on sale. Wouldn't you know - it was! I brought my receipt back to Radio Shack and they adjusted the price for me and I saved myself $30! What a rush that is. I love saving money.

Today I received a nice gift from a colleague. It was a Harry and David package - full of apples, pears, moose crunch and some other goodies. Sounds delectable - right? Well - it was - except for the fact that the pears were rotten! So - I called Harry and David and they were very apologetic and they are sending me 2 jars of preserves! Not bad - huh?

Anyway - that's all I got for today. I am going to keep checking and seeing if other purchases that I made will be on sale after Christmas! It's so fun to save money!
