Sickness

Sickness has taken over the Graber household again.

It started around 10 PM on Wednesday night when Maddie started vomiting. UGH. Maddie is not a vomiter. She has thrown up maybe 2 times in her life. So - I was not sure what to do with this situation. I especially was not sure how to handle it when she threw up all over the carpet. ICK. UGH. Nasty.

She continued to vomit from 10 PM to 2 AM. The worst of it had seemed to pass by Thursday morning. We kept her home from school Thursday and Friday and she had a slight fever. Then on Friday afternoon she threw up again. UGH.

In between that - Aidan was not spared. He threw up at the sitters on Thursday. However - it was just once. There was no fever and after the one time - he was fine. (He has been fine since.)

By Friday night, Maddie had perked up a bit and seemed fine. But - then it hit Brian. He was sick for four hours from 10:30 - 2:30 AM. I won't get into details. But let's just say - it wasn't pretty.

Now of course, I am thinking - "Okay. I guess I am next." In fact, all day yesterday - I carried around a bucket, bracing myself for the worst.

However - I am okay. The night Brian was sick - I was not feeling so hot either. I didn't throw up - but I was feeling totally run down and kind of not myself. Of course - it could have been psychological that I was making myself feel sick with all the throw up that was going on around me. That is entirely possible.

Needless to say, we did not do much yesterday. My day involved 2 naps and bedtime around 8 PM. Today -everyone seems fine. Brian is up and shoveling the driveway with Maddie helping him. Aidan is napping and seems okay. And - I feel somewhat normal too.

Here's hoping that the sickness is gone. And let's hope it doesn't hit me. Pretty please. Maybe I was spared because I am the mommy? Or maybe it's those Vitamin D capsules I have been taking? They do say Vitamin D helps immunity! Whatever it is - I am grateful.
