My Grocery Shopper Guru Friend

Have you ever had a friend who was invaluable? You know - the kind that you just need because they offer some amazing gift to your life that you just can't do without?

Well - I have a friend like that. Her name is Janis and her special, amazing gift that she has is that she is my "virtual" grocery store shopper. I can't tell you how many times I have been wandering through the grocery store in search of something and I have no idea where to find it. What's a girl to do??? Well - I call Janis. Without fail, she will always tell me where to locate something in the grocery store. And the scary thing is that she is ALWAYS correct. Always. She knows where everything is. Even if the item is random or something that you hardly buy.

Take for instance - Worchestire Sauce. I knew it had to be in the aisle with the ketchup and the salad dressings. But for the life of me, I couldn't find it. I wandered back and forth and back and forth. I even wandered into the Asian food aisle thinking that maybe it was there. Nope. It wasn't anywhere to be found. Finally, in desparation, I dialed Janis- a.k.a.- my grocery shopper guru friend. If anyone would know where it was - she would! Sure enough, she told me exactly where it was. She even knew what shelf it was on. The conversation went something like this:

Me: "Where the hell do I find Worchestire Sauce?"
Janis: "It's in the aisle with the ketchup."
Me: "I thought so. But I can't freaken' find it! Give me some specifics."
Janis: "It's on the top shelf wrapped in white paper, kind of in the middle of the aisle."

Bingo. It was there. Are you serious???? She knew exactly where it was down to the actual shelf that it was on!

Wow. She is good like that.

I told her that she should start a company where it allows stupid people like me to call her up and she could just tell you where the items are as you go through the store. Think of how much time you would save if you could just call someone and not have to wander up and down aisles looking for a specific item. Think of how many men would use this service! When their wives send them to the store to pick up some dumb item like Worchestire sauce, or some special cookies that the kids must have - the men could just call Janis and she would tell them exactly where it is located. It's brilliant. Genius. She could make tons of money.

I tell you - that girl knows that grocery store better than the workers themselves. She is good. Next time you need assistance, just give her a call - but only if you are lucky enough to have her number!!
