Last night Brian and I went to American Idol. Which, by the way, was awesome!
Maddie stayed over at Grammy and Papa's house. Everything went smoothly. However, my darling daughter decided to manipulate Grammy with the food issue.
I brought over a cereal bar and yogurt for Maddie to have for breakfast. Maddie eats yogurt everyday of her life. She feeds herself and has been feeding herself for months and months. However, she decided to tell my mother that I spoon-feed her everyday and that Grammy would have to do the same. So - what did my unsuspecting mother do? Why, she fed her the yogurt with the spoon - like a baby. And the funny thing was that my mother thought I really did that. I had to tell her that Manipulator Maddie was telling a fib.
After the yogurt incidnet, Maddie told my mother that she was hungry and she needed PB&J.
A little background - Maddie tells me she is hungry all the time and asks for a variety of food at random times of the day. She wants cereal for dinner or yogurt for lunch or cookies for breakfast. Do I give her these items? NO.
Again, my unsuspecting mother figured a PB&J sandwich was perfectly okay for breakfast. After all - the child was hungry. So she made her the sandwich. Then Maddie told my mother that she had to cut it into triangles - just like Grandma Graber does. So - my mother cut the sandwich into triangles and Maddie ate it.
The funny thing is that Grandma Graber babysat Maddie on Saturday night and Maddie also had PB& J for breakfast on Sunday.
So - my darling daughter has sucessfuly worked over both grandmother's to get PB&J in the morning - cut into triangles.
