I recently had an argument with a colleague about whether crock pot cooking was actually considered "cooking."
Huh? I know. I say cooking is cooking whether it is in the crock pot or not. However, this person told me that crock pot cooking doesn't count. I beg to differ. I have made many crock pot dishes that have more ingredients than a traditional stove-top meal. However, she says it doesn't count if you don't chop, saute, and cook it on the stove or oven.
I find this kind of weird that she thinks this way. Sometimes, I chop, saute and cook it on the stove top BEFORE it even goes in the crock pot. Sometimes there is more crock pot preparation than a traditional meal. So - I am not sure why she thinks that the crock pot doesn't count as cooking.
During the winter, I use my crock pot at least once a week. I say crock-pot cooking is the way to go!
