I did something crazy tonight. I cancelled Showtime. We only had it because when we first moved in- Time Warner gave us a deal where it was free for the first 6 months. I made a mental note to cancel it after 6 months. However, at that time "Big Brother" was on and my husband got hooked on "Big Brother After Dark" which only was on Showtime. He wouldn't let me cancel it.
Anyway -time got away from me and then suddenly I realized that we still had it. What a waste of money. No one watches it. I can't tell you the last time I watched anything on Showtime. So I told Brian I was cancelling it. He agreed. (Probably only because Big Brother is not on right now - so he isn't missing anything!) Regardless, I bolted to the phone. I called Time Warner and I cancelled it.
I found out it was $14 per month! What????? I don't pay the bills so I had no idea how much it was costing us. I almost fell on the floor. $14 for Showtime???? That is nuts. Ridiculous. Dumb. Whatever you want to call it - I can't believe it is $14. I am so glad I cancelled it. As it is, we watch way too much TV. The kind man from Time Warner tried to convince me that I needed something else. I told him, "No Thank you!"
Anyway - I feel empowered. I just saved our family $14 per month! Gotta love that.
