The World of Swing Sets

Maddie will be 4 in a few months.
What better present for a 4-year old than a swing set? We thought about getting her one last year, but instead she ended up with big-girl furniture. (Special thanks to Grammy and Poppa.)

So, now it's time to revisit the swing-set idea.

Buying a swing set is no easy task. First of all, there are many options out there. Research is a must. As with anything, there is a lot of junk. There are also a lot of reviews. Unfortunately, the reviews are a bit overwhelming. Most of them say that putting the swingset together is no easy task. Because of this, I have deferred the swing set researching task to Brian. He will be the one who is putting it together so he should research it and read the reviews - right?

There are also many different sizes of swingsets with many different shapes. Do we need the rock wall? Do we need the sand box? Do we need the little fort? It all sounds so fun and great. But - the more you get, the more expensive it is. Should we just get a basic one with swings and a slide? That seems a bit boring. But - maybe that is the most practical.

Then of course, the big question is - where do we put it in the yard? And we have to remember that we can't just plop it down on the grass. A swingset involves prep. Like digging out a spot, putting down mulch and then putting the swing set in its own special area.

It all sounds very exhausting. Should we just go to the park? I know, I know. I can't do that. I want to be able to open the back door and tell Aidan and Maddie to go out and play - on the swingset.

Wish me luck in my swing set research.

Yup- we're in the same exact boat! This is definitely a pattern with us! =)

Only, you get an extra few months to research, my clock is almost out. I think I finally found the winner though, thank goodness!
