Halloween Saga

For the past few weeks, Maddie has been going back and forth about what she is going to be for Halloween. For a while she was going to be Tinkerbell. Oh yes. It was all about Tinkerbell in our house. That is - until Maddie found her long, lost Cheerleader costume in the back of her closet. Then, for a few days - it was all about cheerleading. Ra. Ra.

As a mom - I was worried about the warmth factor of these costumes. After all - it gets cold around here on October 31st. So - I was going to have to put some clothing on UNDER the flimsy cheerleader/Tinkerbell costume. But -somehow - I was determined to make it work.

Aidan also has some options. We have a spider costume that cousin Evan wore last year. We also have a giraffe costume that I picked up at the consignment sale in August.

In my head - I was thinking that since Halloween is on a Saturday this year - that maybe both kids could wear both. We could do a costume-change mid-day. I mean - why not?

However, my decision was made for me the other day, when I wandered into a store and saw a giraffe costume in Maddie's size. How cute would that be? Both of my kids - giraffes? I know. It's cute. You can admit it. So - I bought the costume. The best part about it? It's nice and warm!

So - now the spider option is gone. And thankfully - the Tinkerbell/Cheerleader option is gone too.

I picked Maddie up from school and surprised her with the costume in the car. She was very excited. We got home. She tired it on and she is absolutely IN LOVE with the costume.

And so - the Halloween saga ends. That is - for today, anyway. We shall see what happens in the coming weeks.
