All Christmased Out

I am not ashamed to say it. I am happy that Christmas is over. It was time for it to go. After all - I feel like we have been stimulated with Christmas stuff since October. I am ready to say bye-bye. Good-bye Christmas tree. Good-bye lights. Good-bye tinsel. Good-bye Christmas cookies. Good-bye Christmas music. I am done. I love you dearly - but it's time for you to go until next year.

In the spirit of saying "good-bye" - I un-decorated the house today. Down came the greenery. Down came the lights. Down came the stockings. The only thing that didn't come down was the tree. However - that needs to be on its way out since it is dropping needles. Brian, on the other hand, wants to keep it up until next weekend! What??? That is not going to happen. That is another week. I need the tree out of my house! Not only because I am ready for it to go - but because it's dry. It needs to go for safety reasons. Right?

Slowly, but surely, I have been trying to find a new home for all the toys that have invaded our house. It hasn't been easy - but luckily I purged before the holiday. You know - kicked out a bunch of old stuff before the new stuff entered the house. It has to be done. It's necessary. Otherwise, our house would become overcome with toys!

There is something calming about the return to normalcy. It feels good to start fresh and get back to life as we knew it. Call me a Scrooge - but I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Good-bye Christmas. See you next year.
