It's hard

It's hard to get out and about with a 19 month old.

Brian and I have resorted to going to church in shifts because we can't bring Aidan anymore. He is a wildman. He screams. He wants down. He wants to run around. So until he grows up a little - we are trying this method. I took Maddie to church this morning at 8:30 and then Brian went to 10 AM mass. Not ideal. But that's just where we are at this point with the little guy.

Besides the church thing - it's just hard to get out and rearrange our life around naps. Today, for instance, we went to the open house at the race track. We headed up to Saratoga around 11. Normally that is Aidan's nap time. However, we didn't want to wait until he woke up from his nap - so we just went. Both kids fell asleep in the car. They woke up when we got to Saratoga and we had a lovely time at the track. Maddie rode a pony and we walked around and then went to lunch. Everything was fine. But - I could tell Aidan was tired. We ran some errands on the way home and by the time we got home it was around 4 PM. I put him down for a nap and had to wake him up at 5. It was just a weird nap day.

But - I have decided that we can't schedule our life around naps. Otherwise - we wouldn't get anything done and we wouldn't have a life! I watch other parents and wonder if they have these scheduling issues! It seems like everyone makes it look so easy.
