Vermont Weekend

After weeks of anticipating and planning, we finally had our Vermont getaway - WITHOUT the kids!

Brian's sister was nice enough to watch both of our kids from Friday night - Sunday and off we went to Middlebury and Burlington. It was a gorgeous weather weekend. Perfect and sunny and in the 70's.

We arrived at our first destination on Friday night around 7 PM. We stayed a cute little inn that did not disappoint. It was old, historic and quaint. It was very cute. We had a great dinner and then a full breakfast in the morning. After breakfast, we wandered around Middlebury and found some cute shops and found a farmer's market. Then we headed over to Otter Creek Brew Pub and tasted some free samples of beer.

After that. we drove to Burlington, had a late lunch, and checked into our hotel - which was gorgeous! We had a great view of Lake Champlain. We wandered down to the lake, took some photos and then decided to hit the pool. The hotel had a really nice indoor pool with a hot tub. We hung out there for a while and then got ready for dinner.

We headed up to Church Street where there are all sorts of shops and street performers. We ended up eating at an Italian restaurant that had outdoor seating and spent 2 hours people watching while we ate.

After that, we went back to the hotel, and hung out in the lobby and listened to a quartet and sat by the fire. This morning, we got up and went to a recommended restaurant for breakfast and then headed back to pick up the kiddos. It was a perfect weekend getaway and I should mention it was our FIRST one since Maddie has been born! How crazy is that? We made a pact that we are going to try and do this once a year.
