It's hard to believe that it's the end of July. Eeeks!
Anyway - despite the heat and humidity, July was my highest running month ever!
I ran 75 miles. (My highest before was in January when I ran 70 miles.
Very exciting.
In other news - I ran 11 miles on Saturday morning with Elisa and the Team and Training group. I thought it would be easy breezy since 2 weeks ago when I ran 10 miles - I felt great. That was not the case on Saturday. From the first mile, I felt like crap. In fact, I felt like my heart was racing and the sweat was pouring off me. It was definitely more humid than I had anticipated.
And to top things off, my garmin wouldn't turn on. How was I supposed to run 11 miles without my trusty garmin??? And more importantly, why wasn't my watch turning on? Oh well. I would worry about it later. Fortunately the bike path is marked with mile markers so we would know our mileage. But - I am so used to glancing at my watch every few minutes to check my pace and see how far I have gone, that I knew this run would not be good. I felt like I was running blind.
Somehow we got through it, but there was a lot of run/walking involved. That's okay though. Because once I started walking, I felt better. So I was okay with the run/walk thing.
Once I got home, I figured out why my garmin was not turning on. Fortunately, it just had to be reset and then it was good to go. Too bad I didn't know that before I ran.
Cheers to another month of training and let's hope I can beat my 75 miles!

Congrats on a great month of running. I hate it when my garmin doesn't work. It an be frustrating...and freeing all at the same time.
