I had been to one Trader Joe's before. But it was a LONG time ago and it was in DC. I vaguely remember it being in a busy part of the city and I remember it being very small. But I liked it.
Anyway - it's always nice when something new comes to Albany. I happened to be over on Wolf Road today, so I stopped in.
I wandered through the aisles and bought an assortment of items. I ended up with ground turkey, chicken, cereal, cereal bars, bananas, whole wheat bread, pizza dough and peanut butter pretzels. I know. Random! I wanted to get a variety of things though so I could try things.
The prices were great and I was especially impressed that the bananas were 19 cents. If I wanted organic - they were 29 cents. The price on the organic strawberries was great too. I think they were $2.99.
The store was busy, but there were no lines at the cash register. Everyone was very friendly. My only gripe was that the parking lot was really small. And I wondered why all the new stores are over in Colonie. Why couldn't they put a Trader Joe's over here in Rensselaer County? Sigh. I guess I should be happy that TCBY is coming to Rensselaer County this month. Anyway. I digress.
Trader Joe's was great. When I am over that way, I will definitely be stopping in. But will I make a special trip there? Probably not.
