I dropped Aidan off at daycare, and got Maddie on the bus. Then I was on my way to Catskill. I should have known something was wrong when the air pressure light came on in my car. I didn't pay much mind to it though because it always pops on for the slightest reason. I drove down the Thruway and got off at the Coxsackie exit. I went through the toll booth and then I heard it. You know. That horrible sound that happens when your tire is flat? Yeah. That sound.
Luckily there was a gas station about 100 feet outside the tollbooth. I pulled into the parking lot and checked out my tires. Sure enough, my front passenger side was flat as a pancake. I sighed. I thought about
I thought about acting like this. But- I didn't. |
He changed my tire. The downside was that I would be driving on a donut. I cancelled my two meetings since I didn't want to drive farther than I needed on a flimsy donut. Plus, it was raining. I drove straight to the tire place in East Greenbush where I had purchased my tires. Thank goodness for Road Hazard insurance. (My new tire would be free.) I drove slowly on 9W and made it there safely.
Of course, the tire that I needed was not in stock. Figures. But - the tire place put a used tire on my car so I wouldn't have to drive on the donut. How nice! Right? I thought so. I will go back tomorrow to get the new tire.
Meanwhile, my whole day was screwed up. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day. And at least it won't be Monday!
