Garden fail

I was literally mass producing cucumbers 3 weeks ago. I had at least 2-3 per day and I was wondering what to do with all my cukes. After all, a girl can only eat so many cucumbers...

Then in the past 2 weeks I started to notice that the leaves on the cucumbers were getting brown. Mmmm. Did they need more water? Was it the heat? Too much sun? The cucumbers started to get dried out and I suddenly realized that I hadn't picked a decent cucumber in at least 5 days.

Last night, the girls were over for a girl's night and Felice discovered what the problem was. She found this guy. Yup.

It was the attack of the cucumber beetles. And there were a lot of them. They had attacked my leaves and they were eating them. Needless to say, I was sad. And we even found some more on my zucchini plants. UGHHH! So much for my beautiful veggies.

The good news is that my peppers are doing great and so are my tomatoes.

This whole garden thing is a trial and error process. And this season it seems like it has been a big error!

My cucumber leaves are turning brown too! I'm going to have to check for the beetles now. At least my tomatoes are turning red finally.
